With the announcement that Te Karaka has been asked to evacuate and the fact the weather isn’t set to relent the following will be implemented as per our draft emergency communications plan:
🛑 The IRLP/EchoLink node on 146.475 will be turned off to allow emergency simplex traffic
🛑 I ask that we refrain from using 685 (Arowhana) and 690 (Whakapunake) for rag-chewing. Arowhana is solar and Whakapunake is on dodgy mains power with limited battery back-up.
✅ HF Comms if needed will be on 7.070 daytime and 3.775 nighttime.
